* The top-rated 15 players from A will play in Premier with the winner of the 2004 A division, Rod MacNeil.

Players in Divisions A, B, C, D, and newcomers will be assigned to divisions based on 1 April 2005 ratings.
Those within 100 points of the cutoff may play up at their request and the directors' discretion.
An important change from past BATs: Players will qualify for Premier based on January, February, or March 2005 ratings lists, and thus Premier will be finalized by 16 February 2005.

FORMAT
This 15-game main event will be computer-paired by John with a modified Fontes Swiss-style system.
The 5-game early bird event will be either round robin or modified swiss with groups of 6-8 players.
Standings will be calculated based on wins & spread (not credits).

The Westford Regency Centrally located off Exit 32, I-495, close to Routes 2, 3 and 93, with easy access

The tournament's web site lists the flyer, a registration form, detailed directions, a list of who is registered
(updated with every entry received), Rotisserie Contest (details pending), and names of attendees
looking for roommates. Check it out often!

NOTES
  • The National Scrabble® Association requires that all but first-time participants be current members
    of the NSA. Bring membership cards or current newsletters to show status.
  • Please bring deluxe boards and game timers.
  • All playing facilities are handicapped accessible. During room registration, please mention handicap room needs.
  • Breakfast may be purchased at the Stonybrook Cafe adjacent to the hotel's lobby.
  • All hotel guests can use the hotel's pool and exquisite Regency Health Club for free.
  • To defray the cost of the playing facilities, all playing attendees who are not staying at the hotel on the Scrabble® package are required to pay a $15 commuter fee (one-day Newcomers exempt from this fee).
  • The first 25 paid entries will be eligible for an early-bird prize.
  • BAT 2005 will continue to award the annual "Robert Felt Memorial *Star* Student Award," a $100 award
    presented to the student under 18 who places the highest in the tournament (this award's fund has been
    anonymously donated and will be given out to students for the next 10 years).
  • Registrations postmarked after 6 April 2005 will be assessed a $10 late fee and may be accepted on a
    division-evening basis only.
  • Players unsure about Premier eligibility are asked to send the higher entry fee and $15 will be reimbursed
    during registration if necessary. Please monitor web site for registration status.
